Jenna Marie Ortega (born September 27, 2002) is an American actress. She began her career as a child and received recognition for her role as a younger version of Jane in The CW comedy-drama series Jane the Virgin (2014–2019). She then won an Imagen Award for her leading role as Harley Diaz in the Disney Channel series Stuck in the Middle (2016–2018). She played Ellie Alves in the thriller series You (2019) and starred in the family film Yes Day (2021), both for Netflix. In the drama film The Fallout, Ortega received praise for her performance as a traumatised high school student (2021). She gained wide recognition for portraying Wednesday Addams in the Netflix horror-comedy series Wednesday (2022–present), for which she received nominations at the Golden Globe, Primetime Emmy, and Screen Actors Guild Awards. She also starred in the slasher films Scream (2022), X (2022), Scream VI (2023), and the fantasy film Beetlejuice Beetlejuice (2024). Media publications have dubbed Ortega "Gen Z's scream queen." Vampirina "Vee" Hauntley (Jenna Ortega) who becomes the new kid on the block after she and the Hauntley family just moved from their home in Transylvania to a neighborhood in Pennsylvania to open a business. Vee, and her family are friendly vampires and her parents, Oxana (Eva Green) and Boris Hauntley (Johnny Depp) have opened a Bed & Breakfast for their visiting guests; ghouls and goblins! Vee is the new kid in town and must face the trials, tribulations, and joys of fitting in with her very human classmates. She learns how to look past other's differences to the piece that makes each individual special with help of her best friend and next-door neighborhood Poppy Peepleson (Natalia Dyer) and close her friend Bridget Mayfield (Sadie Sink) to open a local bed and breakfast called the Scare B&B for visiting ghouls and goblins. The Hauntley family have to learn to do things the Pennsylvania way, especially when Vee is at school, all while keeping their monster lives a secret from humans so they don't scare them.
