Renzo Torre was born into blood. The Torre family helped build the city criminal underworld. His grandfather ran bootleggers during prohibition. His father controlled the dockyards and unions. In the 80s and 90s, Don Torre ran drug ports through charities, judge-bribing through political fundraisers, “missing” real estate records to force gentrification. For decades, his word was law. Then the Vaine family appeared. Julian Vale’s parents were rich, disconnected, and arrogant enough to avoid Torre’s influence—but not enough to escape his attention. When they refused to fund his “urban redevelopment” schemes, he arranged their financial ruin. Then their deaths.
