Years ago, Jim "Buckshot" O'Reilly, a tough, quick-witted, often drunk smuggler from Urthaa, finds himself living out the golden days of the Prohibition-era smuggling business on an intergalactic scale by pure accident. Armed with a shotgun and Thompson SMG (before eventually upgrading to twin blasters), Buckshot drunkenly stumbles upon a unique vessel: a smaller, heavily armored AT-Hauler ship, powered by a sarcastic, sentient AI Brain Module calling itself Vic. Together, they form an unlikely partnership, skirting around Imperial laws, engaging in wild and dangerous missions, and building a name as notorious smugglers. But the calculating Grand Moff Titus Korr has his sights set on them, and they soon find themselves in the crosshairs of New Imperial forces across the galaxy and a bounty hunter droid dedicated to killing them at all cost. It escalates when a fugitive and very powerful force sensitive ex-stormtrooper joins them, rebelling against The Empire to search for others like him.
