George Andrew J. MacKay (/məˈkaɪ/; born 13 March 1992) is an English actor. He began his career as a child actor in Peter Pan (2003). He had starring roles in the British war drama Private Peaceful (2012), the romantic film How I Live Now (2013), For Those in Peril (2013), for which he won a BAFTA Scotland Award, and Marrowbone (2017). He gained wider recognition for his leading role in the war film 1917 (2019). He won a British Independent Film Award for his performance in Femme (2023). The tranquility of Fairview is shattered when a young boy is viciously attacked before bedtime. The child survives, his terrified testimony describing a figure with a stark white face, lidless eyes, and a grotesquely carved smile. Detective Michael Peterson (Joseph Quinn), a devoted family man and father to twins living a seemingly idyllic life, is assigned to the horrific case. However, as the detective delves deeper into the investigation, a gruesome wave of murders targeting teenagers and young adults washes over Fairview. Each crime scene bears the same chilling hallmarks described by the sole survivor, escalating the terror beyond comprehension. The hunt becomes intensely personal, forcing Peterson to excavate the town's sinister past in a desperate attempt to understand the monstrous killer. Through a series of harrowing flashbacks, the origins of Jeff the Killer's horrifying legend are unveiled to both the detective and the audience. The past and present collide in a macabre dance of dread, as he uncovers the horrifying connection between the current carnage and the unspeakable traumas that scarred Fairview years ago.
