Story follows the leader of the Wreckers Impactor and his Wreckers Topspin, Twin-Twist, Whirl, Roadbuster, Rack and Ruin as they are sent on a highly dangerous mission to rescue the other half of the Wreckers: Second in command Springer, Broadside, Sandstorm, Ultra Magnus, Perceptor and Kup - who have been stranded on an as of yet unknown planet known as Earth during a hunt for a distress signal from the, unbeknownst to them offlined, Autobot Lieutenant Cliffjumper that came from that solar system. On the way they find a smaller unit of Wreckers who join their mission consisting of the scientists Jetfire and Wheeljack, assisted by the physical powerhouse Bulkhead and the ironically-named speed fighter Leadfoot.
