Zachary Edward Snyder (born March 1, 1966) is an American filmmaker. He made his feature film debut in 2004 with Dawn of the Dead, a remake of the 1978 horror film of the same name. Since then, he has directed or produced a number of comic book and superhero films, including 300 (2006) and Watchmen (2009), as well as the Superman film that started the DC Extended Universe, Man of Steel (2013), and its follow-ups, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice (2016) and Justice League (2017), the latter of which had a director's cut released in 2021. He also directed the animated film Legend of the Guardians: The Owls of Ga'Hoole (2010), the psychological action film Sucker Punch (2011), the zombie heist film Army of the Dead (2021), and the two-part space opera films Rebel Moon (2023) and Rebel Moon—Part Two: The Scargiver (2024). In 2004, he founded the production company The Stone Quarry (formerly known as Cruel and Unusual Films) alongside his wife Deborah Snyder and producing partner Wesley Coller. Transformers: Space Bridge is a 2027 American science fiction action film directed by Neill Blomkamp and produced by Zack Snyder, Jerry Bruckheimer, Michael Bay, and Steven Spielberg from a screenplay by Spielberg and Blomkamp, based on Hasbro's Transformers toy line. It is the sequel to Transformers: Devastator and the third installment and penultimate film in the Cybertron Quadrilogy. The ensemble cast includes Peter Cullen, Sasha Calle, Jeffrey Combs, Idris Elba, Jeremy Irons, Kevin Nash, John Cena, Katherine Waterston, Sam Elliott, Laurence Fishburne, and Josh Brolin. In the film, Optimus Prime and his second-in-command Windblade must battle the evil Shockwave in the wake of his creation of the space bridge. Transformers: Space Bridge was released on December 3rd, 2027; it received generally positive reviews from critics and audiences, the former deeming it as an improvement over the previous film, with praise for its story, direction, screenplay, performances (particularly Cullen, Calle, Irons, and Brolin), action sequences, visual effects, and musical score. It was deemed one of the best of the quadrilogy, though its ending was harshly criticized. It was also a financial success like the first two films, grossing $916 million worldwide against a budget of $167 million and a break-even point of $260 million. A sequel entitled Transformers: Cybertron Falls was released one year later and concluded the storyline.
