Starscream is a narcissist who doesn’t care about anything except himself. he even tried to overthrow Megatron and become the leader by trying to kill him his brothers (skywarp and thundercracker) try to stop him but he doesn’t listen. He fails to kill Megatron. So Megatron decapitates him
