Andy and his college girlfriend visit Bonnie’s house for a while after he completes his first semester. When asked where Woody is, Bonnie’s mother explains she lost him during their carnival trip. Andy reassures Bonnie that it’s not her fault. His toys got lost lots of times when he was her age, and he says Woody must have a real adventure on his own. As the toys watch their old owner, Forky detects a subtle hint of sadness in Andy, having lost his favorite toy, and feels that he decides to cheer him up, stepping in as the replacement cowboy for Andy to play with, helping him cope along with his GF, Bonnie, and her father all playing together. Woody watches from afar.
