The movie follows the story of Nina Hwang (Chicha Amatayakul), a reserved and introverted woman who has put her dreams aside to take care of her family's restaurant in New York. She deals with a dark past of losing her father to suicide and dealing with the emotional abuse from her grandmother, who insults her, her mother and her younger adoptive sister. One day, Nina meets Aaron Kim (Lee Je Hoon), a charismatic and charming new neighbour who waltzes into her life. Despite their initial disagreements, they slowly develop a deep connection, and Nina starts to fall for him. However, Aaron has a secret: he is terminally ill, and his time is limited. Determined to make Nina happy, Aaron convinces Ryan Navarro (Manny Jacinto), Nina's hapless college best friend and longtime admirer, to help him create a plan to make Nina fall in love with Ryan and marry him instead of Aaron. Ryan reluctantly agrees, and they set out to make Nina believe that Ryan is the man of her dreams. As Nina starts to fall for Ryan, Aaron watches from the sidelines, torn between his love for her and his desire for her happiness. With time running out, Aaron must come to terms with his own mortality, and Nina must make a choice between the two men who love her.
