TMNT II was meant to be a movie centered around Mikey getting fed up with the way his brothers disrespect him and reject him for the way he talks and jokes... Even if he fools around and acts. But no one in the family will give him any credit, or even all his attention. And when his frustration with the family comes to a head and boils over, Mikey quits the team to don a black bandana and officially join the Foot. Of course, the Foot are ultimately treacherous. And when the other three don't prove so easy to win through charm and flattery, the other three turtles break their truce with the Foot and follow a lead to Japan to stop a plot that has its roots there. The remaining turtle brothers and Splinter ended up in their non-mutant animal forms. But some kind of antimutagen leaves them completely defenseless, and it's up to Mikey to come to his senses and finally earn his respect by single-handedly rescuing the entire clan.
