Ruth Harriet BukKater (13 February 1867 - 4 December 1918) inherited a sizeable amount of money after divorcing her husband Mr. BukKater. She also is living with her youngest daughter, Rose (17), with the five others living elsewhere. She serves as the tripary antagonist of the film - not wanting Rose to even look at the Third-Class Passengers, and let alone interact with them! She wants her daughter to live a healthy, formal, lavish lifestyle, and does care for her; if in her own strange way, wanting Rose to marry the "handsome and respectable" Cal Hockley to restore their fortune and status, despite the fact both Ruth and Cal would prefer to marry eachother personally than Rose. She makes fast friends with some of the other wealthy women on board too.
