Born in 2007 in Vancouver, Canada, to a Scottish-Canadian father and Japanese mother, Koyu speaks both Japanese and English. Koyu's first role was voicing the character of Atari Kobayashi in Wes Anderson's Oscar-nominated stop-motion animation film, "Isle of Dogs".
