Lyanna would not be the first.’ Following the Great Tournament at Harrenhal, Prince Rhaegar asked Lyanna Stark to flee with him, seeing her as the perfect candidate to bear him a child, the third head of the dragon. But the wolf, already betrothed to Robert Baratheon, refused. Later, Rhaegar left King's Landing and was never seen again. In his absence, Aerys' paranoia subsided and his son Viserys established himself as a worthy heir to the throne. In everyone's mind, Rhaegar soon became nothing more than a distant ghost.
