Roland Havilliard was the son of King Dorian I's cousin and therefore the second cousin of Dorian Havilliard. Roland had blond hair and green eyes. Aelin remarked that he looked similar to Dorian. However, he was shorter than Dorian by a good amount. Upon first meeting him, Celaena noted that there was something she did not like about him, even though she could not say what. Dorian did not enjoy his cousin's company. According to Chaol, Roland was a "conniving wretch" and a "sniveling, spoiled ass".
