An epic and magical tale of gods, a golden city, a hammer, intrigue, sibling rivalry, and lots and lots of thunder. Decades ago, Thor, the prince of Asgard and heir to the throne, was led astray by his arrogance, which led Odin to send him on tasks among the nine realms, something Thor considered unworthy of the future king of Asgard, but he followed him nonetheless. Until he discovered that it was all a conspiracy by his brother Loki, leading Thor to invade the Asgardian palace during a celebratory meeting with other realms and attack his brother. Disappointed and frustrated with his son's actions, Odin banishes him to Midgard, separating him from his powerful weapon, Mjolnir, and stripping him of his divine abilities. In Midgard, Thor meets Jane Foster. Then Thor discovers that Loki plans to take advantage of Odin's sacred sleep to regain his strength, to lead an attack of the ice giants on Asgard, and thus seize power on the throne. Having no choice, Thor must give up the life he has built for himself on Earth, find a way to recover Mjolnir and his powers, return to Asgard, and stop Loki from executing his plan masterfully.
