Tom Bateman is an English actor. He was born on 15 March 1989, to two teachers, one of fourteen children and has a twin brother. Brought up in Jericho in Oxford he attended Cherwell School before joining the National Youth Theatre and enrolling at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art, where he was awarded the Leverhulme Scholarship.

After the events of the Avengers, Thor returns to Asgard expecting to find his home unchanged. Instead, he discovers that Loki has seized the throne and declared himself King of Asgard. Believing his brother has betrayed both him and their father, Thor confronts Loki, but the new king refuses to surrender his position. Loki claims that Asgard needs a stronger ruler, while Thor insists that Odin must reclaim the throne. As Thor tries to convince Odin to confront Loki, a greater threat emerges. The Enchantress and the Executioner, powerful Asgardian enemies who secretly manipulated events on Earth, reveal that Baron Zemo was sent to eliminate Thor so they could gain greater power. With Zemo defeated, they now turn their attention directly toward Asgard. Realizing that he cannot face them alone, Thor seeks the help of Hercules, an old ally and powerful warrior who agrees to stand beside him. Together, Thor and Hercules confront the Enchantress and Executioner while Thor attempts to stop Loki from allowing Asgard to fall into their hands. The conflict forces Thor to prove that he is more than a warrior who wants the throne—he must prove that he is willing to sacrifice his own desire for power to protect his people. After a final battle, Thor defeats the Enchantress and Executioner and prevents their plan from succeeding. Loki is captured and imprisoned, while Odin remains the ruler of Asgard. But Thor is left questioning his brother’s true motives. Post credit: Loki sits imprisoned in Asgard. Thor visits him, demanding to know why he betrayed their father. Loki calmly tells him that he never intended to destroy Asgard. He took the throne because he was protecting it from something far worse—something even Odin cannot defeat.
