Thor, crown prince of Asgard, craves battle and glory, recklessly leading an assault on the Frost Giants against his father Odin’s orders. As punishment, Odin strips Thor of his powers and banishes him to Earth, casting his enchanted hammer, Mjolnir, alongside him. Landing in New Mexico, Thor meets astrophysicist Jane Foster and her team. Initially arrogant and desperate to reclaim his power, Thor learns humility as he experiences human life and protects innocents from danger. Meanwhile, Loki, Thor’s adopted brother, seizes Asgard’s throne by manipulating events and secretly aligning with the Frost Giants. On Earth, S.H.I.E.L.D. investigates Mjolnir’s landing, detaining Thor when he tries to retrieve it. Failing to lift the hammer, Thor realizes he is unworthy. When Loki sends the Destroyer to kill Thor, he sacrifices himself to save lives. This act restores his worthiness, allowing Mjolnir to return and his powers to be restored. Thor defeats the Destroyer and returns to Asgard, confronting Loki in a fierce duel. As Loki’s schemes unravel, he falls into a cosmic wormhole. Thor, now wiser, vows to protect both Asgard and Earth. Post Credits: Nick Fury shows astrophysicist Erik Selvig the Tesseract, a mysterious cube of immense power.
