There's been a theory that Mattel should sell Thomas and Friends to Hasbro. I was hesitant at first, but now I'm for it. I was thinking a tv show in the same vein as the original show and not the reboot. Maybe made by the My Little Pony Friendship is Magic Team. Either with models or with CGI. Or made by a different studio that can do model trains. Where they can also adapt books not yet made into episodes or stories that would feel in the vein of the books or early seasons.
