Toto is Dorothy's beloved terrier companion and the emotional anchor of her journey through Oz. Despite being a small dog, Toto possesses remarkable courage, loyalty, and an almost human-like ability to sense danger and truth. He is the catalyst for the entire adventure, accidentally pulling back the curtain to reveal the Wizard's deception. Toto is able to communicates through words, yet his presence is really is how he expresses himself. He represents unconditional love and the comfort of home, serving as Dorothy's most reliable confidant in a strange and wondrous land. Toto is scrappy and determined, never backing down from threats despite his diminutive size, and his unwavering devotion to Dorothy drives many pivotal moments in the narrative.
