The Chameleon is one of the very first supervillains Spider-Man has ever faced. With his real name and identity to be unknown, he is in fact a French citizen immigrated in New York. He gained superpowers from an experiment which causes his flesh to become all metal and nanotech. With the nanotech developed skin, the Chameleon has the ability to shapeshift into any specific person in order to continue on his criminal career and to never get caught by anyone, thus calling himself the master of disguise and a spy.
