Reporter Philip Redfield becomes trapped in the hidden town of Peaceful Valley after his car crashes into an invisible barrier. He discovers the town possesses advanced extraterrestrial technology, including matter transportation and matter replication, but the elders refuse to share it, fearing humanity would misuse it for war rather than peace. Redfield attempts to expose the technology, but the town demonstrates the destructive nature of man by creating a weapon from it, leading to his eventual return to his car with no memory of the events, preserving the town's secret.
