51-year veteran teacher Professor Ellis Fowler is forced into retirement and, believing his life was wasted, plans to commit suicide on Christmas Eve. However, phantom bells lure him back to his classroom, where the spirits of former students appear to show him how his teachings inspired them to live meaningful lives and become heroes in their own ways, ultimately saving him from despair and giving him peace about his life's legacy.
