Following many years in the New York theatre scene, Emma Elizabeth Steiger is a bi-coastal actress known for her work in several Disney Channel shows, such as Shake It Up and Austin and Ally. As a child she had the privilege of appearing aside Dick Van Dyke in Diagnosis Murder.
Daughter of Joel Samuel Steiger, writer and producer of series such as Perry Mason and Matlock, Emma grew up immersed in the world of the arts.
She has appeared as a vocalist in various charity events, such as SING presented by What A Pair! on the Orpheum Theater stage. She was finalist in The Dorothy Chandler Spotlight Awards in Los Angeles.
She graduated from Muhlenberg College with a BA in Theatre, concentrations in Acting, Directing, and Performance Studies. She performed in multiple MainStage productions and had the privilege of directing the world premiere of "The Imaginary Audience" by the award winning playwright Mattie Brickman. She found her love of devising immersive theatre when she created and directed "The Love Project," a theatrical piece based on 65 interviews she conducted about varying definitions of love.
In New York, Emma is an active volunteer at multiple arts education programs, including The 52nd Street Project where she participates weekly in their "Smart Partners" program. She has participated in a variety of new play developments. In December of 2020, Emma and her father were chosen by Conde Nast and GLAMOUR to star in "A Letter to My Father."
