Gemma Chan (born 29 November 1982) is an English actress. A Worcester College, Oxford graduate, Chan began acting in the late 2000s, making her film debut in 2009. She rose to attention with her leading role in the Channel 4 science fiction series Humans (2015–2018). She gained prominence with her starring roles in Crazy Rich Asians and as Elizabeth Hardwick in Mary Queen of Scots (both 2018). She next starred in the Marvel Cinematic Universe films Captain Marvel (2019) and Eternals (2021), portraying Minn-Erva and Sersi, respectively. She also had a voice role in the Disney animated film Raya and the Last Dragon (2021). She appeared in Olivia Wilde's psychological thriller Don't Worry Darling (2022) and Gareth Edwards' science fiction film The Creator (2023). Offscreen, Chan has been labelled a fashion icon. -Story swap- Selina Kyle, a.k.a. Catwoman, has been hired by the Kingpin to steal valuable information from S.H.I.E.L.D. that the Fisk could use against them, which could help rule over New York City. After Selina steals the information, Director Fury has his top spy, Natasha Romanoff, a.k.a. Black Widow, to take back the information and bring in Catwoman. After a confrontation between the two femme fatales, they grow the utmost respect for each other. Nat manages to convince Selina to team-up against Fisk and she will let Selina walk away, but both of them don’t fully trust the other. Selina believes that Nat will take her in after helping her and Nat is under the impression that Selina will just give the information over to someone else.
