A childhood friend of Victor Frankenstein. She lost contact with him when he went to university, although after he returns to his home, she manages to reconnect after being invited to do so by their mutual friend Henry. On the night of Victor's engagement to her best friend, Elizabeth, she is asked to be her maid of honour at the wedding. During the eve of their wedding night, she witnesses Victor's creature attack him, and overhears what Victor has done to their friends, and witnesses him shoot Elizabeth trying to get the creature. Afterwards she refuses to testify to the creature's existence, letting Victor be blamed for all its killings, and be executed, as revenge for what he has done.
