The best friend of Victor Frankenstein. He is the only of Victor's friends who still wrote to him during his university years, despite the fact that he never got a response. Once Victor returns to conduct his experiments, Henry attempts to reconnect, and even brings his other friends to do so as well. He even becomes Victor's best man for his wedding to their friend Elizabeth, but is saddened by her death, and he enters a deep depressive state, being unable to bring himself to see Victor before his execution.
