Hortensio is the long-time admirer of Bianca, continually rejected by her father because Katharina remains unmarried. His luck changes, however, when his best friend Petruchio arrives in town and informs him that he is looking for a woman with plenty of money...regardless of temper or appearance. Delighted and relieved, Hortensio recommends Katharina, and simultaneously concocts a brilliant plan: he will disguise himself as a music teacher and offer to train the sisters in playing the lute. Things are going marvelously until he bumps into a suspicious-looking Latin teacher who seems to have his eye on Bianca....
