Bowser and Bowser Jr have been broken out of prison thanks to an otherworldly enemy... Meta Knight. After hearing word then the Bowsers have escaped, the Mushroom Kingdom council receive a transmission from somebody called the Star Warrior saying that he's coming. The Mario Brothers and the princesses prepare for the arrival of the Star Warrior. And the Star Warrior happens to be... KIRBY! At first no one thinks that he'll be taken seriously because he is so adorable. But Rosalina reminds everyone that Toads and Lumas are cute but also dangerous, and that surely Kirby is no different. So finally, the heroes from other universes team up. They also meet Princess Daisy and the rough mercenary versions of the Mario and Luigi named Wario and Waluigi. Mario and Waluigi think that they could really use their kind of help as long as they get paid.
