The story of this season combines Zelda II: The Adventure of Link and A Link to the Past. Here it is a direct sequel to the Zelda cartoon. A wizard by the name of Aghanim has taken over the Hyrule Castle and plans to free Ganon from his prison with the Seven Maidens. Link and Zelda venture outside of Hyrule and into the Dark World to free the maidens and fight off the dark wizard Ganon.
