Max has spent her entire life proving she belongs. As one of the fiercest players on the university rugby team, she’s used to fighting for every inch of respect on and off the field. Tough hits, bruises, and being underestimated come with the territory. What she doesn’t expect is having to share their field with the soccer team while construction takes over the athletic complex for the season. Especially when it means dealing with Xavier. Xavier is soccer’s golden boy—cocky, infuriating, and impossible to avoid. A world-famous player turned billionaire before graduating college, he’s worshipped everywhere he goes, and somehow he knows it. Max can’t stand his smug grin, his constant teasing, or the way he acts like everything is a game he’s already won. Xavier, meanwhile, is obsessed with getting under her skin. Their rivalry quickly turns into heated arguments, reckless dares, and tension so sharp it feels dangerous. When one late-night mistake leads to a no-strings-attached arrangement, they convince themselves it’s only physical—just stolen nights, secret hookups, and a way to blow off steam. No feelings. No complications. But the more time Xavier spends with the girl who refuses to fall at his feet, the harder it becomes to keep things casual. And Max starts realizing the arrogant billionaire hiding behind the fame and charm might be the one person capable of breaking through her walls. Because sometimes the line between hate and desire is impossibly thin.
