Kalen Sarfold is content with his mundane life on the New Hampton outskirts. But when a terrible force is unleashed on his home, he is forced to travel halfway across the world to awaken the sleeping Noxin dragon, enlisting help along the way. He awakens the dragon and travels back to his home, and after a huge battle, the Forcehold is destroyed, but nothing is changed. Kalen realizes that the entire time, the Forcehold was just bluffing, and the real damage has been from the way the population has been treating the planet.
