Jonathan Watts (born June 28, 1981) is an American film director, producer, and screenwriter. He is best known for directing the Spider-Man films within the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU): Homecoming (2017), Far From Home (2019), and No Way Home (2021). He also directed and co-wrote the films Clown (2014), Cop Car (2015), and Wolfs (2024), as well as directing many episodes of the parody television news series Onion News Network. He also worked on the Disney+ show, “Star Wars: Skeleton Crew” and co-wrote “Final Destination Bloodlines” (2025). Watts has also directed music videos for electronic music artists such as Fatboy Slim and Swedish House Mafia. A young student, named Peter Parker, is living life as best as he could, both at his school and his home with Aunt May and Uncle Ben. But Peter still has one thing to balance: His new gained powers. About 4 days ago when him and Mary Jane were at a bug musuem, he was bitten by a radioactive spider that gave him superpowers to gain superstregnth, shoot out webs, crawl on walls, sense danger and to see in the dark. When Peter is trying to balance his new superhero part of life, he then encounters an enraged man named Max Dillion, whom calls himself, Electro, with the help of an man of a body of angered wasps and yellowjackets, nicknamed Swarm. Now the new friendly neighborhood Spider-Man has to balance his home and school life, while stepping into his new superhero career of sorts, meanwhile battling these 2 dangerous villains.
