Age 99, Captain America's best friend and sidekick turned into a brainwashed cyborg assassin and back again. After being presumed KIA during World War II, it turns out that Bucky’s body was recovered by a Soviet Union soldier who delivered him to Arnim Zola. Zola then made Bucky his guinea pig as he began work on brainwashing Barnes and transforming him into the Winter Soldier. In addition to his cybernetic arm, Bucky’s abilities are enhanced through being injected with HYDRA’s version of the Super Soldier Serum, granting him near-superhuman strength, durability, speed, endurance, and stamina.
