Age ???, a former high school bully of Peter Parker who subsequently discovered that Peter was Spider-Man and wanted the same powers. But when Carl ate the very spider that died from biting Peter, instead of becoming a spectacular webslinger just like Peter and company, Carl was painfully transformed from man into a hive mind of spiders that feast on victims from the inside and take over their bodies to become strong enough to defeat Spider-Man.
