When Paul’s father, Benjamin, distanced himself from his family as he grew obsessed with contacting the Mayan god of mischief Wayeb, he relied on Romy for comfort, and Romy was more than happy to give Paul anything he needed. However, unbeknownst to her, Romy’s love for her son allowed Paul to foster some backward views on women, causing him to develop into a villainous manchild.
