It turns out that Onslaught is a fusion of Xavier and Magneto, born from the two mutants’ combined minds and powers upon their death to destroy Apocalypse. Despite En Sabah Nur’s demise, he used the chance to create a new body by merging his two enemies into a singular being and taking control of its mind.
