Age 16, the son of a member of the Nova Corps who inherits the helmet from his father. Sam’s father, Jesse, served as a member of the Nova Corps’ elite unit, the Supernovas, before retiring to work as a high school janitor, and Sam would frequently stay after school to fill in for his father. However, the two’s relationship was incredibly strained, with Jesse having alcoholism and Sam believing his father’s war stories to be drunken fantasies until he discovered the Nova helmet. With it, Sam possesses all the abilities of a Nova Corpsman, including superhuman speed, strength, durability, stamina, flight, the ability to fire energy beams from his hands, and more.
