Age 82, former editor-in-chief of the Daily Bugle, Peter’s old boss from when he was a photographer when he was young, and Spider-Man’s biggest critic. Years ago, Jameson was told he needed to retire because hating Spider-Man so much was not good for his health at his age, to the point where he nearly suffered a stroke after one of his rants and had to step down afterward. Since his retirement, JJJ has lightened up a little and become a close family friend of the Parkers. However, he objects to Mayday and Annie succeeding their father as New York’s web-slinging superheroes because he worries that they might become menaces to the public like he accused Peter of being back in the day.
