Age 18, a student of Empire State University recruited by the obscure Golden Age hero Black Marvel to join his team of young heroes known as the Slingers. Although a scientific and mechanical genius from a young age, Eddie also had cerebral palsy in his right arm, thus he modified the right gauntlet of his Hornet costume to also function as a normal arm. Using the Hornet suit, Eddie gains enhanced strength, the ability to fly using insectlike wings on his back, and can wield bio-electricity.
