A personal healthcare companion robot built by Hiro’s deceased older brother, Tadashi. As such, Baymax is programmed to be a gentle, loving, if somewhat naive and awkward, robot with a simplistic and huggable design who is highly knowledgeable in all forms of physical and mental healthcare. Following Tadashi’s death, Hiro began training and programming Baymax to become a fighting machine, even though Baymax isn’t programmed to hurt anyone. Regardless, Baymax eventually became an essential part of Big Hero 6.
