After losing his wife in a terrorist attack and accusing his cousin, who happens to be Black Tom Cassidy, Sean briefly led a criminal lifestyle before he joined the X-Men. In addition to his sonic scream, Banshee can use it with the wings in his costume to fly, but his throat is still vulnerable to all forms of attack.
