After the international fallout surrounding Project Starfish in Corto Maltese, A.R.G.U.S. publicly dismantles Task Force X. Hearings are convened. Intelligence oversight tightens. The Suicide Squad becomes a liability no administration wants attached to its name. Behind the curtain, something far quieter begins to move. A secure transmission reaches a select group of operatives. The sender identifies only as Mockingbird. The offer is simple: High compensation. Full deniability. Absolute operational freedom. The recruits are not expendable criminals fitted with bombs. They are elite contractors chosen for precision, intelligence, and psychological resilience. Among them: Deathstroke — the world’s premier mercenary, a battlefield surgeon who treats combat like mathematics. Bane — revolutionary tactician, master strategist, physically overwhelming yet intellectually disciplined. Their objective: Hunt down the surviving members of the Task Force X.
