Matthew The Raven is a supporting character in The Sandman. A loyal, sarcastic raven companion to Dream, who was once human. In life, he was Matthew Cable, a government agent investigating Swamp Thing who died sacrificing himself to save both Swamp Thing and Abby Arcane from Anton Arcane, and thus had his soul reincarnated as a raven in the Dreaming to serve as a loyal companion to Dream.
