"The Phantom of the Opera" tells the story of Christine Daaé, a young soprano at the Paris Opera House, who is secretly tutored by a mysterious, disfigured musical genius known as the "Phantom" who lives in the opera house's underground caverns; he becomes obsessed with Christine, manipulating events to propel her to stardom while terrorizing the opera house with his ghostly presence, ultimately leading to a complex and tragic love triangle when Christine rekindles her childhood connection with the wealthy Viscount Raoul de Chagny.
