Born from Russian aristocracy, Kravinoff became renowned for his exceptional hunting skills, which he honed to fulfill his sense of lost nobility. During his travels across Africa, Kraven pushed his body beyond human limits with a voodoo potion that increased his strength and speed to extraordinary levels. Kraven the Hunter wants to hunt Spider-Man to prove he is the greatest hunter in the world. Kraven decided that he could achieve his redemption if he could defeat the arachnid in an honorable way. So, he managed to lure the arachnid hero into a trap, whose main objective was to defeat the hero, usurp his name and be more efficient than him.
