Paul Thomas Wasilewski known professionally as Paul Wesley, is an American actor, writer, director and producer. In addition to English, he also speaks Polish, having spent four months of every year in Poland until the age of 16. His television debut was on the now-defunct soap, NBC's Another World where he portrayed the character of 'Sean McKinnon'. In 2001, Wesley, then credited as Paul Wasilewski, was one of the main cast members of the short-lived CBS television series Wolf Lake, playing the role of Luke Cates. Wesley has also had a number of roles in television shows such as 24, 8 Simple Rules, American Dreams, Army Wives, Cane, Everwood, Guiding Light, Smallville, and The O.C.. He is best known for starring as Stefan Salvatore on the supernatural drama series The Vampire Diaries, as well as his role as James T. Kirk in the Paramount+ original series Star Trek: Strange New Worlds. Throughout the years, he has also appeared in a variety of films. He appeared in the 2008 CBS television film The Russell Girl, and had the lead role in the 2007 ABC Family miniseries Fallen and its' sequels.

On June 22nd 1992, John Gilbert and his then girlfriend, Isobel Flemming had a daughter who was then adopted by John's brother Grayson and his wife, Miranda. They named her Eloise Gilbert and she would later be identified as the latest Petrova Doppelgänger. They are unaware that more than a decade ago on July 31st 1980, thousands of miles and an ocean away, another Doppelgänger was born, to James and Lily Potter, who named their daughter Elena Potter. 15 months later, on Halloween 1981, James (a Petrova descendant via his mother) and Lily (who has an Untriggered Werewolf gene) are killed by the Dark Wizard known as Voldemort, and Elena is declared the *Girl-Who-Lived*, a title she'd soon come to hate. After eventually killing Voldemort and triggering her Curse, Elena leaves Magical Britain and it's two-faced populace. While *celebrating* her 18th birthday in Las Vegas, she meets a certain Original Hybrid, and one thing leads to another. In 2010, after breaking his curse by Sacrificing Eloise Gilbert, Klaus Mikaelson seeks help from a certain witch to learn why he can't make Hybrids.
