As Highfather's biological son, Scott was born on the peaceful world of New Genesis, but would actually be raised amidst the darkness of Apokolips, as part of his father's pact with Darkseid. The Lord of Apokolips, however, never fully patronized him, having left him in an orphanage in the care of the sadistic Granny Goodness. Despite this, the one who would come to be called Mister Miracre always remained a kind soul, and with an enormous thirst for freedom that would make him a key player in the new war.
