Daniel Mark Pudi (born March 10, 1979) is an Indian-Polish/American actor. He is best known for his role as Abed Nadir on the NBC sitcom Community (2009–2015), for which he received three nominations for the Critics' Choice Television Award for Best Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series and one nomination for the TCA Award for Individual Achievement in Comedy. Since 2020 he has starred as Brad Bakshi in the Apple TV+ comedy series Mythic Quest. He played the lead role in The Tiger Hunter, a comedic and warmhearted independent film surrounding the immigrant experience directed by Lena Khan in 2016 and funded through a Kickstarter campaign. His short film, Running, which he wrote himself, follows Pudi as he sets out on a mission to solve the puzzle of his father and finds himself instead on a complex, funny, and vulnerable journey of self-discovery and acceptance.

When Steve wakes up with no memory of who he is other than his first name, or how he got to this new, almost primal existence, he must journey across "The Over world" to find a long lost legion of magicians that local villagers say will give him the answers he seeks. Armed with nothing but a sword Steve sets out to find the Woodland Mansion, little does he know he's being followed. Herobrine, an ancient entity, almost ethereal presence, who has been in the Over world for eons, has now found the hero Steve and doesn't like how he's changing things. He takes over the minds of the villagers and even the magicians turning them into Vindicators and Evokers. Steve must battle his way through the woodland mansion to find the old spellbooks before these evil beings find him. In the chaos he learns how to build something that will become his greatest weapon, a gauntlet, that can craft and create anything. He uses this to defeat the mobs and have a final battle with Herobrine where he banishes him to a prison in a place called the Far Lands. In the final scene Steve returns to his home village where he announces he hasn't found who he is, but has found a way back home, a portal, a prophecy, he has to kill a dragon...
