Sir Peter Robert Jackson, (born 31 October 1961) is a New Zealand film director, producer, actor, and screenwriter, known for his Lord of the Rings film trilogy, adapted from the novel by J. R. R. Tolkien. He is also known for his 2005 remake of King Kong and as the producer of District 9. He won international attention early in his career with his "splatstick" horror comedies, before coming to mainstream prominence with Heavenly Creatures, for which he shared an Academy Award Best Screenplay nomination with his wife, Fran Walsh. Jackson has been awarded three Academy Awards in his career, including the award for Best Director in 2003. Thor, son of Odin god of thunder, had everything he wanted, but on the day of his "coronation" as the new king of asgard, frost giants from Jotunheim attacked Odin's Asgardian palace and although they were defeated, Thor did not was satisfied because he can't do anything, and because of that Thor went to Jotunheim and faced the Frost Giants alongside his brother loki and his friends, but Odin found out about this and went after Thor, taking him back to asgard and because he started a war between Asgard and Jotunheim, Thor was banished from asgard and fell into midgard to learn to stop being a spoiled child, to deserve to be the king of asgard, besides that his powerful weapon Mjolnir doesn't answer anymore him because he is no longer worthy to raise him up. Thor lived and learned with humans and he sacrificed himself to save people when Loki sent the Destroyer to kill Thor and cause great devastation and because of his sacrifice Thor finally became worthy to lift Mjolnir.
