Taking place several years after Weirdmageddon, Dipper and Mabel are now in their late teens to early 20s and living in Gravity Falls. Ford invents two portals for the twins that allow them to explore other dimensions. While traveling, they meet Mordecai and Rigby, and their friends from Regular Show, Finn and Jake from Adventure Time, Twilight Sparkle and the rest of the Mane 6 from My Little Pony, along with Spike and Starlight Glimmer. The groups decide to band together as a team to protect the multiverse from evil. Later, they recruit Toad from the Mario games as their little buddy. Their main nemesis is a female multiverse demon named Multi-Versa who believes the team is disrupting the balance of the multiverse by traveling between dimensions. Over time, Dipper and Twilight spend a lot of time together discussing books and learning from each other. They slowly begin developing romantic feelings for each other, though they do not immediately act on those feelings. The plot follows The Mash Toons, their team name, as they travel the multiverse, make new allies, battle Multi-Versa and other villains, and the evolving relationship between Dipper and Twilight. Their journeys allow for comedic and action-packed stories while exploring interesting concepts across different fictional universes.
